Its usually the same crowd that are so against capital punishment but really get all enthusiastic about supporting abortion.

That's funny. I am against Capital Punishment especially in legacy cases where there was too much ambiguity or failed jury instructions. Cases like

LOL. I'm going to assume you're a "male" or at least "identify" as one. Therfore, you and I do no represent what a female goes through.

The problem I have with the anti-capital punishment crowd is that most of them tend to support abortion. Really.. they're against the termination of life in one form but against the termination of life in another.

    At least be consistent...

I was born a male and continue to be one and have zero desire to change. What you are saying is very true, we have no idea what a woman goes through. My wife (yes, born a woman, remains a woman, no desire to change) and I have had four children together. We miscarried at least one between child 2 and 3. We also have an adoptive 26 year old. The hardest part for me was knowing that I lost the opportunity to meet my child 29 years ago and again 17 years ago. For
my wife, the miscarriage that occurred 17 years ago was very hard on her but we
    go through it.

The problem I have with the anti-capital punishment crowd is that most of them tend to support abortion. Really.. they're against the termination of life in one form but against the termination of life in another.

Agreed. Ironic, isn't it. I think it comes down to choice for women to do what they wish with their bodies (abortion) but make the criminal who committed
capital murder spend the rest of their life in prison to "effectively" atone for their crimes.

    At least be consistent...

I know. As one of my old bosses would say to me, "Brian, you are consistently inconsistent."

Thanks for your response. I'd say that we are in sync on guns and gun DS>control.

The only `gun control' needed is the Second Amendment. Anything that deviates from the Second Amendment is oppression.

So what would you use guns for, including AR15s?

One of the first things an oppressive government does to control their
citizens is to outlaw and collect all firearms in the hands of their civilian population.

Look for oppressive gun control to become a top priority of the new false government. They are already heavily suppressing free speech. Guns will be next.

    Why does that matter?

Standard management trick. I dealt with this in a bad company.

Manager: I need you to stay late today (as I'm just about to leave).
    Me: I can't. I have an appointment.
    Manager: Oh, what's the appointment?

What he's trying to do is get to the point where he can argue that what he RL>needs me to do is more important than my appointment.

Dale is doing the same thing. He wants to move the argument away from RL>gun rights to an argument over "what does anyone need a gun for?"

This may seem weird, but since Shipp asked it should be addressed.

Anyone who would ask ordinary American citizens `So what would you use guns for' ought to be refered to two true stories from the late 1800's; The end of the James/Younger gang, and the end of the Dalton gang.

Both of those gangs of outlaws were brought to an end by ordinary citizens who were armed and ready to stand up to outlawry; the Dalton's in Coffeyville, Kansas, and the Youngers and James bunch in Northfield, Minnesota.

If there were a few modern instances of either or both of those scenarios, there'd be a lot less criminality in neighborhoods, far less mass shootings than there have been in recent decades, and drive-by shootings would be either extremely rare, or disappear altogether.

But lefties will come up with dozens of excuses as to why honest citizens should NOT have the use of firearms available to them.

The only `gun control' needed is the Second Amendment. Anything that deviates from the Second Amendment is oppression.

The Second Amendment is always used as an excuse on the how, what, and why someone wants a gun, owns a gun, or discharges a gun. Although the drafters of
the Second Amendment wrote it under the auspices of the time, Americans never wanted to update it because it gives them blanket rights to gun ownership instead of intelligent rights.

I know somebody who killed a baby possum with a BB gun loaded
with plastic pellets. I imagine she could have done the same using
an AR15 that is fully loaded with real ammo. But that would have
been overkill. I doubt if any of the remains of the baby possum
would have been found afterwards (assuming she would have been able
    to hit the target).
